Bravo à Simon Penney, élève de la 7ème année à l’École l’ENVOL, qui a été choisi pour faire partie de la délégation de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador qui participera à l’Expo-sciences pancanadienne, du 17 au 19 mai 2023, au centre des congrès d’Edmonton.
Le projet de Simon :
Dans ce projet d’Expo-sciences, un jeu de calcul mental a été développé par Simon Penney, élève de la 7e année à l’École l’ENVOL, à l’aide de son enseignant M. Lotfi Mejri. L’élève a utilisé MIT App Inventor pour créer l’application du jeu de calcul mental et les résultats sont encourageants quant à l’efficacité de l’application éducative pour améliorer les compétences des élèves.
Un jeu de calcul mental est un excellent moyen d’améliorer les compétences des élèves de 2e et 3e année en mathématiques. Les élèves doivent répondre aux questions de multiplication, division, addition et soustraction. Le jeu peut être adapté à différents niveaux d’apprentissage en ajoutant des niveaux de difficulté pour permettre aux élèves de progresser à leur rythme. En jouant à ce jeu, les élèves peuvent s’amuser tout en améliorant leur maîtrise des mathématiques.
Bravo à Simon et à M. Lofti Mejri. On suivra la participation de Simon à l’évènement.

Congratulations to Simon Penney, a 7th grade student at École l’ENVOL, who has been chosen to be part of the Newfoundland delegation that will participate to Canade-Wide Science Fair, from 17 to 19 May 2023, at the Edmonton Convention Center.
Simon’s project :
In this Science Fair project, a mental arithmetic game was developed by Simon Penney, a 7th grade student at École l’ENVOL, with the help of his teacher Mr. Lotfi Mejri. The student used MIT App Inventor to create the mental math game app and the results are encouraging in terms of the educational app’s effectiveness in improving student skills.
A mental math game is a great way to improve math skills for 2nd and 3rd graders. Students must answer multiplication, division, addition and subtraction questions. The game can be adapted to different learning levels by adding levels of difficulty to allow students to progress at their own pace. By playing this game, students can have fun while improving their math skills.
Congratulations to Simon and Mr. Lofti Mejri. We will follow his participation in the event.
